Two Retired City Public Servants Pass away

Retired Kankakee Deputy Chief of Police John Gerard passed away this morning.  Gerard had spent 34 years on the force when he retired in 1995.  For many years Gerard led the department’s investigations and oversaw the department’s detective bureau.   The cause of death was not announced, Gerard was 85 years old.  Kankakee officials today also announcing the passing of former Kankakee Police Chief James Dupuis.  Dupuis served as chief from 1989 to 1993 after joining the
