The Iroquois County Emergency Management Agency has an update on that gasoline pipeline break from last week. The agency says someone struck and damaged the 12-inch pipeline last Wednesday afternoon and Marathon shutdown the pipeline as soon as they detected the problem. No one was injured and Marathon deployed more than 130 people along with equipment to deal with the spill. Iroquois Public Health Department is also working with those living in the area to make sure the gasoline hasn’t gotten into private wells. It’s estimated some 12-hundred barrels of gasoline was spilled and is being recovered and removed.
