Tetter Resigns

Jul 20, 2021 | 9:22 AM
At last night’s Kankakee City Council meeting, 7th Ward Alderman Carl Brown read a letter of resignation from fellow ward alderman Fred Tetter. The letter did not mention any reason for the resignation other than Tetter wanting to move on to a new chapter in life. Tetter’s resignation takes effect at the end of the month. So once again, Mayor Chris Curtis is tasked with appointing a replacement, something he has already had to do once before just since taking office two and a half months ago.

Alderman Tetter was a frequent critic of now Mayor Chris Curtis when he was also a member of the city council. Curtis says he has nothing but respect for Tetter for standing up for what he believed was best for the City of Kankakee.
