Truck fire on I-57 closes southbound lanes Saturday night

Kankakee City Fire was called out to a truck fire on the Interstate about 11 Saturday night. Reports say the truck and trailer fire on the southbound side of the interstate near the 309 mile marker forced the closure of those lanes for about two hours. The fire reportedly started with a mechanical issue in the truck and spread to the trailer. Both were a total loss.
