Kankakee City Council Announces Vacancy (AUDIO)

The Kankakee City Council officially declared the second aldemanic seat in the 7th ward vacant last night following the resignation from the post by Fred Tetter effective July 31. Mayor Chris Curtis says he hasn’t compiled a list of possible candidates yet, but he hopes that someone can be chosen and announced at the next city council meeting on August 16 to avoid the need for extra meetings to fill the seat by an end of this month deadline.
