City Police Make Gun Arrest

Kankakee City police were called to the 900 block of North Harrison last night for a man with a gun.  When officers arrived they found a group of people in the yards and on the sidewalk.  They attempted to speak with a Jaylin J. Coffie, but he began to walk away.  Coffie refused orders to stop and went into a home where police found him in a bedroom along with two guns, one reported stolen out of Kankakee.  Officers also removed a third gun from Coffie’s waistband.  He’s facing weapons charges today along with resisting police and on an outstanding warrant.   Also arrested was 60 year old Alexander A. Burns who police tried to enter the home multiple times during the investigation.  He was also found to have an active warrant and was arrested.
