Kankakee City Police Arrests Man for allegedly Breaking into Cars

Kankakee City Police report an arrest after a man was caught stealing from a car on Moore Street. According to reports, officers were called to the home in the 600 block of Moore about 5:30 Wednesday morning. When they got there, they spoke to the owner of the car, who said she’d seen a man going through her things, but he ran off when he saw her. From her description, officers went to the home of Reakqon Smith. Officers took Smith back to the scene of the break-in and the owner of the car identified him as the person she allegedly saw stealing from her car. Smith was taken into custody by city police for burglary to a motor vehicle.
