Kankakee City Police Make Gun Arrest

City Police were called to a gas station in the 100 block of West Court Street just before 5:30 Tuesday evening for a man who allegedly took items from the station without paying for them. A man fitting the description of the alleged offender, later identified as 18-year-old John J. Moore was found near the car wash section of the station. Officers say while talking to Moore he denied he’d been in the store and tried to walk away. After notifying Moore he was being detained, officers searched him and that search allegedly turned up a gun in the groin area of his pants.  City Police arrested Moore for weapons violations.
