Hearings Tonight for Fighting BPL Students

Disciplinary hearings will be held tonight for 7 Paxton Buckley Loda students at a closed meeting of the PBL school board.  The students are all 14 and 15 years of age and have been charged with disorderly conduct, mob action, intimidation and aggravated battery in connection with several fights at the school that were sparked by the alleged sexual assault of a 14 year old girl over the summer. The students also reportedly sent threatening texts messages and made similar social media postings.  An 18 year old Paxton resident has been charged in the assault.
