District 111 Covid Numbers

Kankakee School district 111 officials say they have had 36 confirmed positive cases of the covid 19 virus in students so far this year and some 15 cases in adults.  Overall, 93 are now in quarantine. And they are not alone.  Over 14-hundred Illinois schools are reporting potential COVID-19 exposures.  The Illinois Department of Public Health says its doctors are concerned and are closely monitoring the situation.  The number of cases and hospitalizations involving children is increasing in many parts of the state.  School officials say they are trying to balance health concerns with the need for children to socialize and be in school after a year of remote learning.
