Kankakee House Fire

The Kankakee Fire Department responded to a house fire around 11:30 last night in the 100 block of North Cottage.  The blaze caused about 7 thousand dollars damage to the structure and residents belongings. The people living in the home will have to find another place to live for the time being but all got out safely.  Fire officials had to rescue 7 dogs inside the house.  All were saved.  The fire is believed to have been started by an electrical short in a lamp that was too close to improperly stored flammable liquids.
