Thursday Crash Kills Cedar Lake Man

Illinois State Police report a traffic crash near Grant Park late last week took the life of an 81-year-old Cedar Lake Indiana man. According to reports, the car driven by Robert E. Buergermeier was Southbound on 18-thousand East Road when he stopped at Route 17, but continued into the intersection where it was hit by a semi driven by a 33-year-old Janesville Wisconsin man. Buergermeier died at the scene of the crash while his 81-year-old wife Rosemary was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
