Riverside Employees speak at Kankakee City Council Meeting (Audio)

Oct 5, 2021 | 7:26 AM
A contingent of Riverside Medical Center workers opposed to the hospital’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate showed up in numbers great enough to fill the Kankakee City Council chambers last night.  Most were there to show support for 3 speakers that signed up to make public comment to the council.  Most of the speakers suggested a health care crisis would erupt in the entire county and beyond because workers are ready to leave their jobs at Riverside in resistance to the mandate.  Mayor Chris Curtis didn’t address the workers from the podium, but he did share his thoughts with us after the meeting.

Riverside has set an October 31 deadline for all its employees to be vaccinated.
