City Police Report Two Cars Stolen in the City

City police report a couple of cars stolen in the city this week and both were left running. The first happened Tuesday in the 15-hundred block of West Court where the owner said he’d left his car running and unlocked as he went into a gas station to get a cup of coffee. He returned to see his car headed south on South Curtis. In the second instance, a man told police he’d left his car running in the alley behind 400 South Lincoln early Tuesday afternoon as he went inside to visit a friend. A witness told police he’d seen someone get into the car and drive off and the witness said he chased the car until it wrecked at Chicago and Station. That’s when the alleged thief jumped out and took off.
