With students returning to the classrooms this fall, the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Memorial Foundation recognized their Scholarship award winners as awarded earlier this year. Foundation President Dr. Pat Polk says as the students head off to school it’s nice for donors to know where their money is headed
Polk said the six scholarship winners went to a variety of colleges this fall
Scholarships varied between 500 and a thousand dollars and were awarded to students from Kankakee, St. Anne, Momence and BBCHS. Polk adds the hope is to get more donations next year to award a larger number of scholarships during next year’s celebration.
