Bond Set in Grundy County Shooting

Bond has been set at 10 million dollars in Grundy County Court today for a Joliet man facing six counts of attempted first degree murder in connection with last night’s shooting of a Grundy County Deputy in a traffic stop that went bad at Rt. 47 and Dupont Road.  Deputy Tyler Post was shot three times at point blank range allegedly by 18 year old Demarcus T. Denwiddie.   The officer’s bullet proof vest stopped two of the rounds the 3rd causing non-life threatening injuries to Post.  He’s expected to make a full recovery.  Denwiddie was found hold up in an apartment in Mazon.  He was taken into custody without incident suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.
