14 Years for Man who Sexually Assaulted Dying Girlfriends 9 Year Old

A former Hoopeston man who was entrusted by his then dying girlfriend to watch her 9 year old child, pleaded guilty this week in Vermilion County Court to sexually abusing the minor.   Richard Ingram was sentenced to 14 years in prison followed by at least 3 years of parole.  Prosecutors say it happened during the summer of 2019 when the woman asked Ingram to watch the child when she could not because of her illness.
