Local Dems criticize County District maps

The Kankakee County Democratic Central Committee is asking the County Board to re-think its recent redrawn district maps. In a press release the committee calls the new map “unfair” and says the map is meant to reduce members that are “Democratic, African American, women or union members” The press release accuses the Board of rushing the new map through without public input and without discussion by the Board’s redistricting committee.
