Pediatric COVID vaccines to be available in Kankakee County (Audio)

Regional COVID-19 numbers continue a downward trend. Kankakee County Health Department Administrator John Bevis

A little over 42-percent of County residents are fully vaccinated against the virus with over 48-thousand people fully vaccinated. With the Centers for Disease Control and the Illinois Department of Public Health having okayed the Pfizer vaccine for use in children, Bevis says the Health Department will host a pediatric clinic next weekend.

Bevis adds that as of now only 300 doses will be available for the November 13th clinic and if you want to register your child you can do that through the County Health Department website or its Facebook page. He says you’ll need to register each child you’d like to get the vaccine individually. A few local pharmacies have begun to receive pediatric doses as well, but much like the roll-out of the adult vaccine, supplies right now are limited.
