A homeowner in the 100 block of north Entrance Ace.in Kankakee shot a man who was trying to get into his home about 4 Sunday morning. City police the intruder was not trying to take anything he was seeking safety from two other men who were beating him just minutes earlier. The victim is a man in his 40’s he says he was at a nearby home for a party where the beating took place. The victim fled and was trying to get into the home when the homeowner mistook him for an intruder and shot him in the leg. No charges have yet been filed against the homeowner.
