The Kankakee City Council last night approved 13-thousand, 750 dollars in spending to give the police department another tool in combating gun violence.  Police Chief Robin Passwater says a camera system will be leased with the money that can help track vehicles seen at the scene of gunshots and other crimes.

Passwater says the cameras known as the Flock System, can also take photos of vehicle license plates and that can be a big help in shooting investigations.
