As you decorate for the holiday season, you might notice some local fire departments are decorating as well. Bourbonnais Fire Protection District Chief Jim Keener talks about “keep the wreath red”
Keener says the program was started in 1954 by a part time firefighter in Naperville, was adopted by the Illinois Fire Chiefs in 1980 and has gone on to be a nation-wide program.
