Man Held for Battery

A Wilmington man is being held on 20,000 bond for allegedly beating a man at a liquor establishment in Braceville in September.  Police caught up with 31 year old Gerald Doyle Jr. of Wilmington last week and charged him with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.   Police say Doyle allegedly shoved a man, knocking him to the ground where Doyle then beat the victim in the face with his fist, breaking a bone in one of the man’s eye sockets in the process.
