State asks Supreme Court to overturn appellate court ruling

Illinois is asking the Illinois Supreme Court to reverse a decision that effectively ended Governor Pritzker’s mask mandate in schools.  State Attorney General Kwame Raoul made the request in a petition filed Tuesday.  Last week, a state appellate court rejected Pritzker’s appeal over a temporary restraining order blocking his mask mandate in schools.  The latest appeal comes just days before the governor’s administration is scheduled to lift the statewide indoor mask mandate Monday.
