A traffic stop Wednesday netted Kankakee City Police a gun arrest. According to reports, it was just before 4:30 Wednesday afternoon when an officer spotted a gray SUV traveling eastbound on East Willow. Reports say the officer recognized the driver as 35-year-old Robert L. Trimm Junior and the officer knew Trimm’s license had been revoked. Reports say Trimm pulled into the alley behind the 900 block of East Willow and tried to get out of the car, at which time the officer ordered him back in the car and told him why he was being pulled over. While taking Trimm into custody, a search of the SUV allegedly turned up a handgun, suspected cannabis and drug paraphernalia in the car. Trimm was taken into custody on numerous drug and weapons charges.
