Bourbonnais Police report two people are in custody following an alleged carjacking in the village Thursday. Deputy Bourbonnais Police Chief David Anderson says it all started about 3:30 yesterday afternoon with a report of shots fired and an armed carjacking in the 800 block of Gettysburg Drive
Anderson says that while no one was injured by the gunfire, one car in the area was hit and a 71-year-old person in the area was injured while taking cover. Schools in the area were put on a soft lock-down while local police gave chase
The chase ended with crash on Route 45 near River Road
24-year-old Anycco M Rivers of Kankakee and 29-year-old Ladonta A. Tucker of Sun River Terrace were booked into to the Jerome Combs Detention Center on numerous charges including armed robbery, aggravated vehicle hijacking, aggravated fleeing and eluding and several gun violations. Anderson credits cooperation between local law enforcement agencies for the quick resolution to the incident.
