Kankakee County Sheriff’s police make drug arrest

A traffic stop Wednesday morning netted Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police a drug arrest. According to reports, deputies spotted a car  driven by 19-year-old Adaija M. Williams of Kankakee leave a gas station in Hopkins Park at a high rate of speed and without using a turn signal. Reports say when officers tried to stop the car, Williams allegedly refused to pull over. After about two miles, Williams reportedly pulled into the driveway of a home and two men got out of the car and took off running through the back door of the house and out the front. The men then ran through an adjacent field and eluded police. Officers say they returned to the car to take Williams into custody and a search of her car allegedly turned up several packages of suspected cannabis. Williams was arrested by Sheriff’s police for fleeing and eluding police and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver among other charges.
