Boshears Murder Trial Continues

The murder trial for 36 year old Jeremy Boshears continues today in Will County Court. The proceedings took a break on Good Friday after the jury heard testimony on Thursday from the father of 24 year old Katie Kearns. Kearns’ body was found wrapped in a shower curtain in the back of her jeep hidden inside a barn in the St Anne area in 2017, she died from a single gunshot to the head. Prosecutors say she was killed by Boshears at a Joliet bar in a jealous rage over text messages she had received from an ex-boyfriend. Kearns was dating the then married Boshears at the time. The defense claims that Kearns, who had suffered from depression killed herself, but in opening statements the jury learned an autopsy found no gunpowder residue on her hands.
