People’s Bank to fund Kankakee fireworks

The City of Kankakee has a sponsor for it’s 4th of July fireworks. People’s Bank has agreed to donate 24-thousand-dollars to the City to offset the cost of the fireworks celebration, held annually along the banks of the Kankakee River. Jeff Hammes, President and CEO of Peoples Bank said the Bank made the donation as a way to celebrate the bank’s 60th anniversary. This year’s fireworks show will be held July 2nd along the river between Beckman Park and Kankakee Community College.
