Another week and more road construction to tell you about. The Illinois Department of Transportation says work will start today to replace a bridge on Route 17 west of Kankakee. IDOT says the bridge i east of Herscher Road and crosses the east branch of Horse Creek. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and will be controlled by traffic signals at both ends. It’s hoped the bridge deck replacement will be completed by the end of the year.
IDOT says work will start today to repair a culvert on Rte 17 about 10-miles west of Kankakee. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and will be controlled by traffic signals while the work is being completed. IDOT says the project will result in the temporary closure of South 10-thousand West road as well. It’s hoped work on re-enforcing the culvert will be completed by May 16th.
