Fire overnight causes $50,000 worth of damage

Kankakee Firefighters were called out to North Schuyler Avenue last night for a report of a smell of smoke. Reports say a search turned up a fire in a building in the 800 block of North Washington Avenue. The fire was in the paint booth at the Stor-Lock and was quickly put out, but not before doing some 50-thousand dollars worth of damage to the building. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
