Kankakee arrest leads to seizure of cocaine, cannabis, and handguns

Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group Agents, along with the Illinois State Police SWAT team, arrested two people early Wednesday morning on drug charges at the home they shared in the 1100 block of East Maple Street in Kankakee. A search of the home resulted in the seizure of over 2,000 grams of cocaine, over 5,000 grams of cannabis, two loaded handguns, United States Currency, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.  Both 49 year old Kim L. Franks, and 51 year old Kimyata S. Mitchell-Eason are facing drug charges, Franks has also been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon and two counts of Armed Violence.
