COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Illinois. On Friday, State health officials reported more than 30-thousand new cases over the past week. That is nearly six-thousand more cases than the previous week. The CDC says 14 counties in Illinois are now rated at the Medium Community Level, that includes Will county. Locally, the Kankakee County Health Department over the weekend announced 92 newly confirmed cases of the virus between April 29th and May 6th with no new COVID-related deaths. 51 percent of Country residents have been fully vaccinated against the virus.
