Rensselaer man charged with domestic battery

A Rensselaer man has been charged with domestic battery, Criminal confinement, and interference with reporting of a crime after he allegedly stopped a woman who was attempting to leave a home with her 3 year old child.  The victim says 36 year old Kevin R. Brown took her purse with car keys and cell phone preventing her from calling police then held her on the floor and struck her multiple times in the eye with his fist.  The woman was eventually able to escape the home and ran for help.  When police arrived they say they found Brown hiding on an adjacent property.
