Bourbonnais Community High School seeks increase of property taxes to alleviate overcrowding

In this era of record high fuel prices and 8 percent inflation, the Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School Board is moving forward with plans to ask voters for an increase in the district’s portion of your property tax bill to alleviate chronic overcrowding at BBCHS. . The Daily Journal reports the district has sent out some 14 thousand mailing explaining rationale for the increase and spelling out their possible options. The amount needed is estimated anywhere from 12 million to improve the current facility all the way to 160 million for a brand new school.  Three public meetings are scheduled on the proposed project with the first Thursday night at 6 at the BBCHS auditorium.  If approved the tax increase referendum would appear on the November ballot.
