4 injured in Newton County vehicle accident

Newton County Sheriff’s police responded to reports of a two vehicle crash with entrapment in the area of SR 55 at CR 900 N. Monday afternoon.   The preliminary investigation indicated that a 23 year old Illinois man driving a truck, hauling equipment was traveling southbound SR 55 when the truck was struck on the driver’s side by a  by a 72 year old Lake Village woman who blew a stop sign on 900 N. The Lake Village woman along with her two passengers, an 82 year old Lake Village woman and 65 year old Lake Village man were hospitalized for what’s  believed to be non-life threatening.
