The Kankakee Count Board starts the process of updating the County’s Natural Hazards Mitigation plan tomorrow. County Board Chairman Andy Wheeler says the county has to have a plan in place to be eligible for federal dollars that would come to the county if there were a natural disaster
Wheeler added the plan is to use the planning sessions to look at how the Kankakee River is used and how it could be protected. The inaugural meeting of the Natural Hazards Mitigation Advisory Task force is tomorrow morning at 9 in the fourth floor meeting room in the county building at Court and Schuyler.
