In a move that’s been a long time coming, the Kankakee Riverfront Board voted Thursday to start the process of removing sediment from the Kankakee River. Kankakee County Board Chairman Andy Wheeler
Wheeler said this will be just the first phase of a much bigger project
Wheeler added that while there will be more studies in the future to help the Kankakee River, the hope is to bid this project over the winter and have it completed by about this time next year.
