Jasper County Sheriff’s police arrested a Fair Oaks man after a domestic incident Monday night during which he allegedly repeatedly beat and tried to strangle a woman. During the attack the victim tells police while he went to check on their three children who were awakened by the altercation, she fled to her car where she called 911. He followed her out, grabbed a shovel and shattered a car window then grabbed her phone and hung up on 911 which triggered an automatic police response. Police say 30 year old Jose J. Perez Frias of Fair Oaks was gone when officers arrived, but he was located yesterday morning, arrested, and charged with domestic battery, strangulation and interference with the reporting of a crime.
