Kankakee City Fire responds to Sunday fire

Kankakee City Fire Department Personnel were called to a fire in a home in the 400 block of North Industrial Avenue early Sunday morning. Reports say the call came in about 5:15 Sunday morning when a neighbor spotted smoke coming from an attic vent. When they got there, firefighters found fire in the attic of the home. That fire was quickly put out and the Red Cross was called to help the family of four find housing. Reports say the fire was electrical in nature and caused some 25-thousand-dollars worth of damage to the home.
