Former Kankakee Alderman Passes

Former Kankakee 2^nd ward Alderman James Stokes Jr. has passed away.  Besides his service to the city on the city council, Stokes also was a Kankakee fire fighter for 40 years.  The cause of death was not released. He was 63.  In his youth Stokes earned All city, All conference, and All American honors as fullback on the Kankakee Eastridge football team.  Arrangements are pending.
