Three shot at house party in Kankakee

Kankakee City Police report a shooting over the weekend sent three teens to the hospital. About 11 o’clock Friday night, officers were called to a home in the 300 block of North Hammes for a report of shots fired. When they got there officers say they found a large crowd from a house party that had been taking place on Pine. Witnesses told police several people had fired shots at those at the party and one or more people at the party returned fire. A 15-year-old, 17-year-old and 19-year-old were hit by the gunfire. Two of them transported themselves to the hospital for treatment, while the third was taken to the hospital by ambulance. None of the injuries was thought to be life-threatening. City Police continue to investigate the shooting.
