10 Years for Supplying Fatal Dose of Herion

A Manteno man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after earlier pleading guilty to supplying a man with heroin with fentanyl in February of 2020.  39 year old Erik V. Norgard of Manteno was later found dead in his car in the garage.  Prosecutors say it was 42 year old Jason L. Pelton of Manteno and 30 year old Thomas P. Meeker of Peotone who put him there. The investigation turned up video showing the two putting an unconscious Norgard in the vehicle then driving off. His body was later found by a family member. Meeker pleaded guilty to concealing a death and was given 18 months’ probation..  The Daily Journal reports the video also shows one of the men taking Norgard’s wallet from his pocket.
