Manteno Man Gets 8 Years for Enticing a Minor

In Federal Court in Urbana Tuesday, a Manteno man was sentenced to 8 years in prison after pleading guilty in February to the attempted enticement of a minor.   Prosecutors say in February of 2020, 42 year old Joseph Longanecker attempted to persuade a minor under the age of 18 to engage in sexual activity.  That same day he passed on the personal information of a minor under the age of 16 over the internet and from his cell phone. Longanecker also pleaded guilty to transmitting information about a minor
