Momence Man Struck/Killed by Semi Overnight

The Illinois State Police and Kankakee County Coroners office are looking into an accident overnight that took the life of a 50-year-old Momence man. State Police say it was just after 11:30 last night when they were called to the eastbound side of Route 17 just east of Heiland Road for a report of a man who’d been hit by a semi. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner identified that man as Daniel Cromwell. Cromwell died at the scene of the crash. The eastbound side of Route 17 was closed for about five hours overnight while State Police investigated the crash.
