15 Years for Sanders Shooting Death

25-year old Devon Johnson was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Kankakee County Court Friday.  During his trial Johnson admitted to the 2017 fatal shooting of Steve Sanders in the alley of the 500 block of East Bourbonnais Street in Kankakee.  He testified he shot Sanders because he thought Sanders was reaching for a gun.  Johnson was convicted of Second Degree Murder.
