Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police crack down on parties

Aug 10, 2022 | 2:37 PM

Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police are cracking down on underaged drinking parties. In a press release, the Sheriff’s Office says they’ve received a number of complaints about large gatherings and drinking parties taking place in the more rural parts of the county. Apparently organizers use social media like Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook to circulate flyers, incorporating a GPS pindrop so partygoers can find the event. Deputies say about two weeks ago a deputy came across a party on a rural road near Milford with some 150 people in attendance from as much as 35 miles away. Last Saturday night, Iroquois County Sheriff’s police were called to one such gathering on Department of Natural Resources property in rural Gilman. Deputies say they stopped cars and arrested party-goers from as far away as Rantoul, Bradley and Frankfort. Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police ask you call their office if you’re aware of any of these parties going on in your area.
