No BBCHS Referendum in November

A referendum to pay for 49 million dollars in upgrades at Bourbonnais Community High School will not be on the November ballot.   The Daily Journal reports the board met on Monday and the matter was not on the agenda.  That was the last board meeting before an August 22^nd deadline to file paperwork to get the question on the November ballot.  The board cited a tight window in which to convince taxpayers to support the measure and noted with inflation running at 8 percent it may not be the best time to ask voters to vote for a tax increase.  April 2023 would be the next opportunity to put the question on the ballot.
