If you’re thinking about adopting a dog, Kankakee County Animal Control could use your help. During this week’s meeting of the Kankakee County Board’s Community Services Committee, Animal Control Director Kari Laird told the committee they’re at the breaking point, ending July with 32 dogs in the shelter
Laird said they get calls every day from people looking to surrender their pets for whatever reason. Laird added they have plenty of pets for adoption
Contact animal control if you think you’d like to adopt one of the pets. Laird commented that with Animal Control running out of space, they may need to euthanize some animals, just to make room.
