Deckhand ID’d

The Will County Coroner’s office has released the ID of the man whose body was found Tuesday in the Des Plaines River. 65-year-old Artie Odom of Hughes Arkansas was a deckhand on a barge when he fell off the barge and into the Des Plaines River on Monday night.  Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers says an autopsy Wednesday showed Odom drowned. The US Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit in investigating Odom’s death.
